We could care less about how many crunches or military style sit-ups you can do. That’s nothing more than a goofy test to see how many times you can contract a group of abdominal muscles and hip flexors. It doesn’t do anything to let us know whether you have a strong core. Your “core” stabilizes the spine while you’re working. And by “work” we mean deadlift, squat, and press, clean & jerk and snatch, and 21 other strength testing and building exercises we like that require you, all of you, to move heavy loads. Now go put away your fit-balls and ab-rockers and get to work!
