Steps to Training at CrossFit Missoula
Every time you come to train at CrossFit Missoula, you will be coached. Unlike many gyms in Missoula, Montana, we require that you work with a personal trainer. We believe that quality coaching gets better results and reduces the chance for injury better than an “open gym” model.
What’s more, our trainers are with you inside and outside of the gym. Much of the work to improve you will happen via email and over the phone. Maybe even an occasional home visit. Inside the Box, we’re about the physical work, the WOD (workout of the day). Out of the Box, we’re talking, setting goals, and developing a winning strategy.
Lastly, if you’re here looking for the group CrossFit experience, know that our groups (Teams) are limited to twelve registered and committed trainees. Average class size is seven people.
In our experience, quality coaching is inversely related to class size. The more people you have in a class, the less attention each person gets. Our objective in the Teams is to deliver a personal training experience in a small group environment.
Your first step to training with us will be to contact one of our trainers and schedule a 60-minute, one-on-one, introductory session. Use both the Trainer Page and Schedule Page to help decide which one of us to call.
This first session is free, and is necessary for you to get to know us, and for us to get to know you – your history, goals, limitations, and aspirations. Think of it as an interview, or a test drive. Where we’re both checking to see if we’re a good fit for each other.
Decide on personal training, small group training, or join a Team.
During the initial Intro, you and the trainer will discuss the various training options and decide which one will work best for you.
Show up! Physically, emotionally, and mentally. We don’t make any claims that training at CrossFit Missoula will be easy. It may, in fact, be the hardest thing you’ve ever done! But if you can just commit to showing up, we promise, good things will happen.
